On Christmas Eve, Humanity Reboxed traveled to downtown Sacramento to work alongside Feed Sacramento Homeless to provide for the less fortunate. HR handed out a total of 60 hygiene kits while Feed Sacramento Homeless (through volunteers and donations) provided food, clothing, backpacks, and sleeping bags to those who need it the most.

I focused on trying to connect with the guests of the event. I wanted to learn what it was like living on the streets during Christmas.

I met a man named Josh, who grew up in Sacramento. He used to be a Dallas Mavericks fan, but no longer followed the team simply because he didn't have a TV or a phone to check the scores. After some talk about how Dirk Nowitzki looked slower then a turtle, he told me how hard living on the streets was. He has been homeless for over a year and a half. The guy didn't even know the exact date, and had to ask me for it. He explained how hard it was to get daily necessitates. He was kinda surprised of how our organizations were just giving out donations to the homeless, but he was extremely grateful.

Its guys like Josh that motivate me to build and grow Humanity Reboxed. The looks I saw on peoples faces when I told them their hygiene kit was free, that someone already paid it for it, was breathtaking. Christmas is an extremely difficult time for some; especially for a man named Micheal, who had no family, spoke little English, and who has been left out of the "loop" for quite awhile. We talked about football, family, and girlfriends, but eventually Micheal became emotional, telling me how cold it was living on the streets. He had no one to spend Christmas with.

Through our boxes and with Feed Sacramento Homeless, we were able to connect with the homeless and make their day. We were able to make a positive impact on peoples lives. We were able to do what each and everyone one of us is called to do: serve God's people. It doesn't matter if your black, white, drug addicted, or sexually addicted. We are here serve all people.

And don't forget, each person who received a hygiene kit today, received a copy of the New Testament! That's awesome news!

We couldn't be able to impact as many lives as we had today without our supporters help. We are thankful for everyone's support. Its through people like you that allows us to make an positive impact on others.

If you want to continue making impacts into this world, on people like Josh and Micheal, sponsor a box from us today. Your kit allows us to directly connect with homeless individuals and provide them with much needed items. If you want to be a continuous supporter, donate monthly! Just check out our "Reoccurring Donations" tab under the "Outreach Boxes" page.

Lastly, if you want to do more in your own community, consider buying one of our Personal Outreach Kits. These kits are for you to give to others, and will be released on January 1st!
